  3. The MagiC Game Contest '99 is the first annual Atari competition held in
  4. conjunction with two of the largest Atari information sites.  MagiC Online

  8. The goal of this contest was to create a GEM conversion of a classic game.
  9. In the end, there were 10 entries. (Though one entrant was disqualified for
  10. premature release of entry)
  11.  
  12. This contest could not have been possible without the support of its
  13. generous sponsors. Prizes were sponsored from the following Atari dealers,

  34. 2. Rules.
  35.  
  36.    * Each person can vote only once.
  37.    * The contestants are allowed to vote; contestants are allowed to
  38.      vote for themselves.
  39.    * A valid votesheet should have all games rated. The exception is if a
  40.      game does not work on your system. If this is the case, say so in the
  41.      [comment] section. (Make sure to include your setup)
  42.    * Rate each game from 1 to 10 points, where 10 points is the highest
  43.      (best game) and 1 point is the lowest (game needs improvement)
  44.    * The game with the most points after all the votes are tallied will win.
  45.      The game with the second most points will be awarded second place, and
  46.      so forth.
  47.    * The [comments] section has no impact on the final outcome of the
  48.      contest. They are 100% optional and are only there to encourage feedback
  49.      with the author.  Your comments will not be made public. They will be
  50.      collected and sent back to the author at the end of the contest.

  52. (Important note: We have introduced a "penalty" system for games which were
  53. not completed on time for the deadline.  The deadline was December 5th,
  54. 1999.  Unfortunately, 1 game, MagiC Land, needed a short extension in order
  55. to finish.  In order to be fair to the other Programmers, for each day late
  56. pipemania is, 1 point will be subtracted from that games total points. Do
  57. not let this influence your votes for this game)

  71.      The Bitmap brothers game could not be rated due to system
  72.      incompatibilities.
